Project Spotlight: Cape Coral, Florida Splash Pad

Project Overview

Renovated in 2025 by Sarasota-based fountain designer Roman Fountains, the splash pad at 2110 Chiquita Blvd in Cape Coral, Florida, features 9 SplashValves.

By day, the fountain creates an exciting aquatic playscape for kids and families with dynamic, interactive sequences. By night, it transforms into a choreographed lighted showpiece—serving the community as both an immersive play space and mesmerizing visual attraction. This play-by-day, show-by-night paradigm offers the neighborhood a functional artwork residents can be proud of, and which serves multiple purposes.

Even when they’re not used to control every nozzle, SplashValves play an important role in defining a fountain or water feature’s appeal. When deployed strategically, they enable designers like Roman Fountains to create several different experiences all within the same water feature.

In this instance, Roman has provided guests with a series of layered experiences, oriented concentrically around the 9 SplashValves located at the center of the splash pad. Designs like this one offer a kind of structured play environment that maximizes engagement by catering to guests of all ages, desires and abilities.

About the SplashValve

The SplashValve proportional water switch allows water feature programmers to precisely control the spray height of each nozzle mounted on a manifold-based splash pad or fountain without having to vary the speed of water feature’s supply pump.

Unlike conventional water switches, which rely on simple solenoid valves to enable on/off nozzle flow control, SplashValves feature a high-precision, fast-acting, servo-actuated diverter valve capable of diverting water to effect (nozzle), to bypass or to any proportion of the two.

Historically, nozzle-level variable height control has only been achieved using distributed effect pumps, which often require a great deal of submerged high-voltage electrical infrastructure.

Capable of switching between effect and bypass in a tenth of second, the SplashValve facilitates faster, more precise proportional flow control than distributed effect pumps while requiring lower voltage, and fewer overall, distributed power cables and equipment.

Part Number: 072089W001

The SplashValve is a UL-listed, fast-acting, servo-actuated proportional water switch designed for use in fountains, splash pads and water features. It allows aquatic designers and fountain programmers to proportionally control the flow heights of individual effect nozzles operating on a single supply manifold.
